Kiss / Aerosmith

Yesterday, Sunday August 17th, my brother Grant and I went to see the Kiss and Aerosmith concert at Deere Creek Music Center.

Kiss was just OK. They looked tired and not really into it. Way too many pyrotechnics. I mean, how many explosions do you need? They were much better at Conseco last year.

Aerosmith, on the other hand, was of course fantastic. They've never had a bad show out of the *7* times I've seen them. The lighting was so much better than Kiss. They were using the exact same equipment, but it was synchronized and mixed with multimedia video, animation, graphics etc. much better than Kiss.

Even though it was billed as "full sets by both bands" it wasn't. Both have played easily 30-45 minutes more each individually.

I wouldn't want to forget to mention the opening act Saliva. Thirty minutes of screaming. What more can you ask for? If I had a gun; "Click, click, boom"!

Seating was disappointing. It wasn't worth paying $150 per ticket for the most expensive seats. However, the $47 tickets were in a really poor place to see from a wheelchair! Not that there are any fantastic places to watch from in a wheelchair, but some are better than others. I'm in the process of composing a letter to send to the management to complain. I will try to post what I get in response.
